Community Health Nursing

Community Health Nursing is the synthesis of nursing and public health practice applied to promote and protect the health of population. It combines all the basic elements of professional, clinical nursing with public health and community practice. It conducts a continuing and comprehensive practice that is preventive, curative and rehabilitative. The philosophy is based on the belief that care directed to the individual, the family, and the group contributes to the health care of the population as a whole.

This specialty is designed for students to practice community health nursing for the individual, family and groups at both urban and rural setting by using concept and principles of health and community health nursing.
